I would like to propose an enhancement to our current PATCHs system that I believe would greatly benefit our communication with patients. Specifically, it would be very useful if we could have the ability to add custom text to appointment reminders and post-appointment messages.
This would be a single entry in a field maybe an extra tab in 'Appointment Reminders and Messages'. This message would automatically be merged into every reminder and/or message that is sent.
For instance, we could use this feature to:
Remind patients about changes to our processes.
Inform them about upcoming events or initiatives at our surgery.
Encourage them to enable notifications for the NHS App.
Additionally, it would be helpful if this custom text could be date-specific. For example, we might want to include the following message in all reminders sent between 29/08/2024 and 09/09/2024:
"Please note that [Surgery Name] will be undertaking building/maintenance work during this period. We hope this does not cause you any inconvenience."
This feature would allow us to communicate important information more effectively and could also help discourage patients from disabling their reminders and notifications.
I believe that implementing this capability would significantly enhance our ability to keep patients informed and engaged.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. I would be happy to discuss it further if needed.
Best regards,
