Automatically book Patchs consultations into clinical system appointment diary to improve GPAD data quality

When patients submit a request, they should be automatically booked into an appointment slot in the clinical system. Or they could be booked manually by staff by selecting an appropriate slot (similar to how 'self-book' functionality works for patients) - this would have the advantage of allowing practice staff to book patients into other appointments too (e.g. telephone or face-to-face slots) if they cannot use 'self-book' links themselves. This will help improve the quality of General Practice Appointment Data (GPAD) because all activity related to PATCHS will be accurately captured.

I agree this is crucially important as we are being measured on our performance of patient contacts by the amount appointments we offer using the GPAD data. Currently with patchs all of the triage work done is not recorded in this data and hence NHS england think we are twiddling our thumbs rather than working flat out. The automatic booking into a EMIS slot type would be perfect, and we can just make this a 'triage' slot or similar.
