Patients have been sending a patch asking for an appointment one day and then been calling the next morning asking reception to book them an appointment too. On a couple of occasions this has led to the care co-ordinators and reception teams not realising and the patient ending up with two appointments on the same morning/afternoon!
Is there a way of adding a message to the patch template when the patient requests an appointment saying something along the lines of: “Thank you for submitting your request for an appointment – this will be dealt with in the morning and you will be offered a face to face or telephone appointment with the GP. There is no need to ring reception in the morning.”
